Why fish the Comox Valley?
Fantastic Fishing
Most importantly, the fishing here is terrific! Local "feeder" Chinook salmon populate our local waters, offering salmon fishing opportunities at any time of year. In May and June, Coho and larger migratory Chinook begin to pass through our area. These additional fish add to local stocks for peak fishing opportunities that generally last through October. During this time, we occasionally hook Pink, Chum, and Sockeye salmon. A variety of bottomfish including Lingcod, Pacific Cod, and rock fish are also found in our waters. At various times of the year traps can be set for prawns and crab.
Guests needn't be discouraged from booking in the wintertime! We often have winter days that are just as productive as those in peak fishing months.
Incredible Sightseeing
Out on the waters of Georgia Strait, it’s not just the fishing that’s unforgettable — the scenery and wildlife can be just as extraordinary. Often, we’re treated to sightings of Humpback whales, Orcas, Harbour porpoises, Pacific white-sided dolphins, sea lions, and seals. We also spot Bald eagles, Kingfishers, herons, and a variety of other interesting bird species.
While we’re out on the water, we will be surrounded by the breathtaking coastal landscape that makes this area so unique. Mountain ranges rising on both sides of the Salish Sea create a truly spectacular view no matter which way we look.
